P V Sindhu, whose rise marked the arrival of India as a major force in badminton. She is the first woman to win a gold in the world championship. The flawless performance of unstoppable Sindhu, who defeated Japan’s Nozomi. She has been the first woman to win gold in the world championship and second to successfully win five world championship medals.
She got two silvers (2017, 2018) and two bronze medals in (2013, 2014). Sindhu also won silver in the Olympics Rio 2016 and in Asian Games held in Jakarta. She is the fourth Indian to win a medal in the world, where Prakash Padukone being the first man. “Last year I lost in the finals. So, it is important for me to win this time. People never said she won silver instead they say she lost gold. She has lost gold for two years. She understands that she needs to be more alert this time.
