ARUN JAITLEY DEAD IN AIIMS

Arun Jaitley, 66 years old, former finance minister, who stepped down on January due to ill health. He has been in the US for cancer treatment and has gone through a triple bypass surgery at the age of 52 years. Jaitely studied his law at Delhi University and started his career in Delhi high court. He married Jammu and Kashmir finance minister's daughter, Sangeeta.

Arun Jaitley, the former finance minister of India and one of the close associates of prime minister is no more. The former finance minister and BJP stalwart Arun Jaitley after a long fight with health, he ended his life at All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS) in New Delhi at 12:07pm on Saturday, August 24. It took a series of health condition to end his life.

He presided over the rollout of goods and services tax. He commanded goodwill on both sides of the political divide. With the dismiss of Jaitley, "I have lost a valued friend, whom I had the honour of knowing for decades” Modi tweeted. He was treated by multidisciplinary senior doctors in AIIMS, expecting good health. Vinod Sharma, the Editor of The Hindustan Times, writes that Arun Jaitley told: “ God has given me everything except good health”.

He has an art of making friends and influencing people. He always helps his friends for buying new houses, vehicles and also higher education of their children. His demise is a huge loss for the nation. He is a good lawyer and has great knowledge of history, constitution and governance.
“Where you stand depends on where you sit” Jaitely told.
